Merritt Chase Invited to Design Pecar Farm for Eskenazi Health
The Pecar Farm addresses issues of health, food security, and inequality by providing a fresh, healthy, and local food source at the center of a disenfranchised community. The farm and open space will include row crops, pollinator garden, meditation garden, apiary, greenhouse and chicken coop, and gathering areas. The farm will be managed by Indy Urban Acres, a project of the Indianapolis Parks Foundation. This project extends the Eskenazi mission of health and wellness from the main hospital campus to the preventive health care center.
Nina Chase Joins the Carnegie Mellon School of Architecture as Adjunct Faculty
Nina will be joining the staff of CMU's School of Architecture as Adjunct Faculty in the Fall of 2017. Nina will be teaching the third year architecture studio "Integration Studio: Environment, Form, and Feedback," coordinated by Dana Cupkova.

Nina will focus on emerging career trends and tactical urbanism at the National ASLA Meeting. Join Nina from October 20th - 23rd in LA for two panels: "Four under 40: Emerging Leaders in Landscape Architecture" on Friday, October 21st from 1:30pm - 3pm and "Prototype to Permanent: Designing Short Term Projects for Long Term Change" on Monday, October 23rd from 1:30pm - 3pm.
NoBe Nexo Wins Harvard GSD Plimpton-Poorvu Design Prize
NOBE NEXO is a redevelopment project in North Miami Beach, Florida, integrating a mix of uses into a cultural and culinary hub that through a performative density strategy provides a model of resilience to climate change and gentrification. The project implements immediate mitigation and prevention measures for pressing environmental risks as well as delivering assets relevant to the current residents and local character of the neighborhood.
